There was no shortage of buckets in Indianapolis as the East took out the 2024 NBA All-Star Game in a high-scoring affair, defeating the West, 211-186.
The Eastern Conference's monstrous total is the record for most points by a single team in an All-Star Game, eclipsing the previous best of 196, set by the West in 2016.
It was Dame Time in Indy as Milwaukee Bucks point guard Damian Lillard was namedKobe Bryant All-Star GameMVP, recording 39 points on 11-of-23 from the 3-point line, while hometown All-Star Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers added 32 points, knocking down 10 3-pointers of his own.
The West led early in the first quarter, but from there it was one-way traffic as the East made it rain from the 3-point line, setting a new All-Star Game record with 42 3-pointers to the West's 25.
Karl-Anthony Towns tried to lead a mini fourth-quarter comeback, scoring 31 of his game-high 50 points in the final frame

Lillard finished with a team-high 39 points for the East, while Jaylen Brown added 36 points and Tyrese Haliburton 32. Karl-Anthony Towns led the West with 50 points, recording the fourth 50-piece in All-Star history, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 31 points.

Lillard leads the East with a game-high 33 points, while Tyrese Haliburton has 24 and Jaylen Brown 23.

NBA All-Star Game format, explained
After six years of the playground-style draft format, the 2024 NBA All-Star Game will return to its traditional format of East vs West.
The untimed fourth quarter 'Elam Ending' target score format will be replaced by a traditional four quarters of basketball, however, both teams will continue to compete to win each quarter for a charitable organisation of their choosing.
