This hits a very important point, especially in an age where automation and AI continue to evolve. People don’t want to be managed (or sold). I love this idea of “customer relationship leadership”. Let’s lead!🙌😍

If you know me, you know I am seldom at a loss for words. I admit, it took me a little while to process how I felt after yesterday’s event. This experience was ridiculously amazing and fulfilling. These incredible humans are among the most selfless, giving, service-driven leaders and humans I know and today we pulled off an event that took a little more planning and details than I can count. All volunteer based. Lots more to say on the matter but for now I’ll leave it at this: you are the sum of the people you surround yourself with, whether it is 2, 5, 7 or 350+ like we had yesterday! Make sure they lift you up, challenge you, inspire you and oh my god, make you laugh too! Eleanor Warren Thorne, Amy Shair , Jennifer Jones , Stephen, David Colgan , Nina Gervase it was an absolute delight and pleasure working with you on this year’s REBarCamp - RDU event! Can’t wait to catch up for dinner soon!😍🙌To the sponsors and thought leaders, you were AMAZING too - Thank YOU!More pics later today!

Tuesday real estate tidbit. It's truly the little things that can make a BIG difference! If you ask me what excites me? Things like this. Receiving a photo from the listing agent of the items the seller is conveying to the buyer along with the purchase of the home. We had a hint of the seller's organization by some of the things they had in the home while we toured, but this just beams with ownership pride! This is not a new home either. When buyers are buying a home they are full of a thousand and one emotions & concerns, at least! When little things like this come their way, guess what happens? They exhale a sigh of relief b/c they FEEL how much the sellers cared for this home. No buyer's remorse here, only buyer's delight! My buyers are beyond thrilled. If you're a homeowner, do this for yourself and the biggest investment you'll ever make, even if you're not selling for a long time: start saving your manuals for installed items in a binder. Open an excel spreadsheet (or preferred spreadsheet app) and start tracking the paint colors, the updates, vendor and year. Imagine how you would feel if you received the same from your sellers when you buy! Get the best return on your investment and create a winning day for all!**Disclaimer: this really applies for show-ready homes, not homes that need a lot of TLC. No one wants the paint colors from 1973 on a fixer-upper, LOL!#RealtorLife #TuesdayTidBit

Springtime is upon us and in North Carolina that means blooming Daffodils, stinky trees (Bradford Pears) & March Madness, of course! (What a great win by NC State last night! - Go Pack!)It’s also a great time of year to do a little mini-checkup on your home! Thanks for the inspiration to Tim Speice with US Inspect last week. The dryer vent check-up is no joke, protect your home and investment properties too!Check out this list and let me know if you need any local resources. I know a guy, or two or three!😉#homeownership#realestatetips

This morning, the resident teen remembered he had to print something for band class as we’re walking out the door. This, after a 3-day weekend.Naturally, the printer had an issue connecting, then after cranking with sounds of productivity alerts us to the fact that there is no paper in the tray. 🤪We finally leave and as we approach school the carpool line makes it abundantly clear he that being tardy is eminent. The 15 minutes getting through the line offers an opportunity for a life lesson, and one that does NOT include beratement of the teen for forgetting to print. He asks me: “what do I to tell the teacher when I walk in late?”Me: “you own it and tell him the truth. He’s heard lies and worse before, I’m sure. Telling the truth is always best.”Then, I make sure to tell him not to let this ruin his day. It happened. It likely will never happen again, because he does NOT like to be late to anything so I know this was really getting to him. I encouraged him to go ahead and acknowledge the frustration but to not live there for the day. Get past it.And then, I had an epiphany. 🙌 A memory hit me of a time when he came home from school in 7th grade after an economics segment, specifically about the benefits of starting to save money at an early age. He was so excited about the idea of starting to save, that we opened a Fidelity account for him as soon as he was old enough. Now he tracks the stock market daily. My “AHA!” connection was to compare deposits of money like deposits of positive thinking. I say to him:“Imagine, starting at your young age with positive self-talk/thinking. Imagine how much more resilient and how strong your mindset will be in your 20s and beyond, with deposits of positive self-talk starting now!” Full disclosure: it took every ounce of my only slightly caffeinated energy to not giggle with delight at this wonderful connection. And it clearly hit the mark because it gave a tangible thing in his world to compare to. I also explained that this doesn’t mean we won’t deal with hard things, because we absolutley will. Just because I’m known as the positivity Queen doesn’t mean I don’t deal with hard things. I simply choose not to live there. It seemed to resonate and by the time he got out, the tensed up shoulders were slightly relaxed, at least more than they were when he got in the car. This all made me think of a book I read recently. My coach had me read it and it speaks to the importance of positive self-talk. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend for all ages. I especially loved the two sections I tabbed. Take a look at the page that starts with “A self-made wall of negative self-talk”. See if you recognize any.The gist is that your mind will believe anything and everything you tell it. If you think it won’t work, you’re right. It’s up to you what you tell it.#MindsetMatters#OhThePossibilities
