Sentara Health is hiring a Specialty Pharmacy Technician II at Sentara Norfolk General Specialty Pharmacy in Norfolk, VA!Sign On Bonus up to $5,000 Offered for qualified candidates!Shift: Full Time (40 hours)Work hours: Rotating 8 hour shift but M-F day shift (0800 – 16:30, 08:30- 17:00, 09:30- 18:00 and occasional Saturday between 8:30 to 5pm.Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VAJob responsibilities:The Specialty Pharmacy Technician II is an experienced pharmacy technician and will serve as a support to all aspects of the Pharmacy Technician workflow, and as a role model to the pharmacy team. Job duties include all functions of the Specialty Pharmacy Technician I, with additional responsibilities such as: directing workflow, handling patient concerns or complaints, serving as a subject matter expert within different areas of the pharmacy, training and/or being a resource for fellow employees, inventory management, and troubleshooting IT or system-related issues
Third-party online adjudication experience, pharmacy billing experience, outpatient pharmacy or long-term care experience, and Knowledge of patient financial assistance programs are preferred.
Specialty, retail outpatient, long-term care, or mail-order pharmacy experience preferred
Required Qualifications
Virginia Pharmacy Technician License REQUIRED
1 year Pharmacy Technician Experience REQUIRED
Preferred qualifications:
PTCB or NHA certification preferred
